Introducing MOQtail
A new set of open-source libraries has been released, adding support for Media over QUIC. The release ships with publisher, subscriber and relay libraries. There’s also a cool demo app, that demonstrates the minimal video latency.

Screen Sharing with WebRTC and LiveKit: Finding the Best Encoder
Developers over at Hopp performed extensive testing of multiple video codecs in a screensharing scenario, in terms of cpu and network usage and latency. The article shows detailed results, but there are some general recommendations for codec usage as well. Make sure you are using the right tool for the job!

Meta and Yandex are de-anonymizing Android users’ web browsing identifiers
Recent research reveals that Meta and Yandex have embedded tracking codes into websites, breaching Android's privacy protections. The code turns temporary web identities into lasting app user IDs by exploiting browser and OS protocols. Interestingly, Meta also extended this method to be used in webrtc connections.

The first version took less than 3k LOC and has some limitations but it’s definitely a good start. They also have very easy to understand and concise ICE implementation.

How WebRTC’s NetEQ Jitter Buffer Provides Smooth Audio
Great article by Fengdeng Lyu of Meta on how audio jitter buffer from the libWebRTC (NetEQ) works. He starts with explaining some audio and network fundamentals (packetization length, jitter, packet loss, retransmissions), and continues to the NetEQ architecture and used algorithms. Everything is baked up by many diagrams.
